Mary Ethel Simpson, 78, Del City, died Wed., Aug. 21, 2002 at home. Mary Ethel was born on March 12, 1924 in Lone Grove, OK to Oscar Wayne and Maudie Ethel (Lee) Simpson. She graduated from Lake Creek Schools. On April 21, 1949, she married her husband, John Edward Bentley. Mary retired from the OKC Police Dept and Midwest Mortgage Co. to become a housewife. She was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #9969 Del City. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Edward, of the home; daughter, Anna Bridget Bentley, of the home; sister, Evelyn Roberts, Midwest City; brother, Mansford James Simpson, Okla. City; brother-in-law, Kenneth Thacker, Midwest City and sister-in-law, Louise Bentley of Moore; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law. Services will be 10:00 AM, Sat., Aug. 24, 2002 at Sacred Heart Church with burial at Spring Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday at Bill Eisenhour S.E. Chapel.
