DELEVAN - Roy B. Osgood, of Route 16, died Saturday (Aug. 3, 2013) at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born on June 4, 1948, in Franklinville, he was the son of Roland and Onalee Reynolds Osgood. On April 28, 1973, in Humphrey, he married Kathryn Learn, who died March 15, 1996. In 2006, he married Virginia Allen, who survives.
Roy attended Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville and was employed on the family farm until 1989. He also worked at Star Dell Products and Ontario Knife Co., both of Franklinville.
Mr. Osgood was a member of the Humphrey Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years, where he held every office during his time there. He was also a lifetime member of the Cattaraugus County Fire Chiefs Association and was on the Cattaraugus County Fire Advisor Board for 18 years. Roy was also a member of the Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints Church in Yorkshire.
Surviving besides his wife, of Delevan, are two sons, Berdette ""Bert"" Osgood of Franklinville and Wayne Osgood of Napoli; six grandchildren, Roland, Morgan, Marjorie, Roy James, Gage and Onalee Osgood; two brothers, Neal Osgood of Ischua and Danny Osgood of Bliss; and a former daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bieber of Delevan.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will announced later.
