Although I never knew Louise Sollowin, she reminds me of my mother. It was so sad to read about her death. Reading about the kind & caring person she was, I know she will be so missed. When I read of her tragic death, I prayed for her family, that God would heal you from your grief. I am just so sorry for you.

No words can explain this loss. I grew up less than a block away from Louise and her family, as a youth went to get a haircut right across the street from her home. I still find my way to the old neighborhood, Orsi's, Cascio's and to visit family and friends often. It was always so comforting for me to come back to this quiet, peaceful, loving neighborhood. My heart aches for the family and all those that loved Louise. Rest knowing shes in a very safe place now with our Lord, she's an angel of God watching over each of you. In my prayers.

It would have been an honor to know Lousie! I am sorry I didn't. They way her friends describe her in the previous entries helps a person envision what kind of lady Louise was. Peace will find you eventually, it may seem like it never will, but it will. Louise will guide you all through this and all the grieving stages, she will guide you to a place of peace. Peace be with your family and dear friends!

Louisa, Joey and Jeanette, I am so sorry to hear about the death of your Mother. She was a great, strong lady. Louise was a very dear friend of my mom. When Louise and my mom would get together, look out. All those who knew my mom and Louise, know exactly what I'm talking about. I used to work at the bakery and Louise would be cleaning the bakery and it would be quite boisterous there. If things were getting quiet, Bobby would get Louise going. May God Bless all of you. One day we will all be together again.

I did not know Louise or her family, but I still wanted to express my sympathy to all who knew and loved her. My own mother passed away at age 94 two years ago, and I still miss her very much. I know all of you will be missing Louise for years to come, and I understand the feeling of emptiness in your heart. Louise sounded like a remarkable woman, and I know she would not want you to grieve. She would want you to remember the good times and joy you shared. Louise can still live on through your good memories and through the lessons she taught you by her unselfish actions. She is at peace now and watching you all from heaven. God Bless Louise and her family.

My deepest sympathy to you, Jeanette, Louisa, Joey, and your families. Louise Sollowin was an absolute joy to be around. I will never forget her many kindnesses to me as a child, her advice, her wonderful mothering, her food. She always gave me a good word, was never impatient with me. Her door was always open to us. We had so many wonderful times at the house. Louise was so entertaining, had so much advice for us. How she managed to handle a bunch of noisy teenagers with such panache, I can't fathom. What I do know, is that she loved her children fiercely and unconditionally. Her grandchildren as well. Her heart was enormous, and all-inclusive. I always felt welcome, and loved. And this once awkward and gangly kid from the neighborhood loved her very much. Therese Greco Rennels
