I regret that I never had what certainly would have been both an honor and privilege to know Matt Nielson.

The tragedy of his death in Iraq is greatly compounded by the obvious fact that once he retutned to civilian life he had the potential to make major contributions to society.

My deepest sympathy to his parents, brothers and sisters. Your son and brother made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. We will long remember him for that. And we will long keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Captain Nielson,
I want to salute you and "thank you" for serving and protecting our country. I am in awe of your courage and saddened by your ultimate sacifice. It is brave young people as yourself, that make it possible for the people of the United States to live in a country where freedom rings. My thoughts and prayer are with you, your family and your community at this time. May God Bless You and all the brave people in service to our country. Again, God Bless You.
