Cheri and I have known Rol from our high school days, and kept a a very close and personal relationship with him since then. Words are not enough to express the type of person he was. A loving, caring, humorous, adventurous and a hard working individual that found a place in all of our hearts. His memory of his life, friends and encounters was incredible. Many of times we would reminisce about the many things we did when we were young. He had a wonderful gift of expressing his experiences through the three books that he authored. Cheri and I were very fortunate to have spent time with him in Prince George in 2007 and then I returned for two weeks in 2008 for a memorable fishing trip. We also had the privilege of speaking to him and having him smile the morning he passed away. A few minutes in time that will stay with us forever. A true friend of unspeakable character that we will never forget.

Rol was as honest and straightforward of a man as I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He shared his love and always tried to comfort others. His passion was his family. We either spoke or emailed weekly and he always had something new to boast about to me. We were all blessed to have been touched by him. Gail and I send our deepest sympathy to all of you.

Rol Wellman was my Uncle and my idol for as long as I can remember, All I ever wanted to do is be just like Him.
I love Him, and miss our phone calls sooo much.
Rol was a Gr8 jokester and loved to tease, and what a sense of humor!
He loved his April fools jokes till one year he took it to far with Gracie!
Boy did he catch hell for that.
This is a Man that would give you the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
It was an Honor and Privledge to know this Man and be able to call him my Friend!
Hey Buddy you will never be forgotten and I will miss you till I am able to see you again.
Love ya Rol,
And as you would say "SEE YA".
Rick
