Plott was a gentle giant ( unless you were on the other team a snap time) and he was one that I looked up to to try harder to be a better player and person.

I am related to Plott through his mom. My grandmother, Mildred Blankenship (Armstrong) lived in Belleview, FL and I used to fish with Uncle Henry Blankenship, Plott's grandfather, when he visited Belleview. I lost touch with Plott, et al, when my grandmother passed away. My memory of Plott was a family visit to Belleview with his mom, cousin Alyce.

My brother Bobby called me to tell me the sad news about Plott. I send my sympathies to Anne, Dianne and Susan. Although we have been out of touch for years, I have fond memories of Plott. I still listen to Doc Watson and to all the other musicians he introduced me to in Atlanta back in the early 1980s. I'm glad to know that he enjoyed many years with such a wonderful wife and that he and Dianne and Susan stayed close throughout his life. I always remember how much he loved and cared about his sisters.

Our
condolences and prayers, Anne. Plott and I worked together for many years
at the AJC. We shared values and dedication that helped put out some damn
good papers. We also had a friendly feuding rivalry about the Florida-Georgia
football game. When they play this year, I will have a warm thought about
Plott, even if Florida loses.(That's not likely, "Ol' Plott-Dawg.") Sincerely,
all his family, friends and compatriots in journalism will miss a guy who
made a difference. God's blessings.

In the short time that I knew Plott, I was fortunate to learn about Plottburgers, his famous pecan pie, and his love of music and the Georgia Bulldogs. I appreciated the glimmer in his eye that let me in on the joke, and I’ll miss his quiet camaraderie.

Gary and I were so saddened by the news of Plott's passing. We both worked with Plott during his years with the Athens Daily News. Our prayers & condolences to all who knew and loved him. Brenda & Gary Cleveland

Although it has been many many years since I last saw Plott, I have wonderful memories of the time we spent together. What I especially remember are the many hours that we spent together playing guitar. Anyone who knew Plott knew that he loved music, and loved playing the guitar. And I count it as a privilege and such a joy to have been able to share that with him.

John and I both worked with Plott at the Daily News in the early 70's and we were saddened by the news of his death. He was one of a kind and had a gift with words that he was willing to share.

Best Personality...Plott Brice... Henry Grady High School Class of 1965. As Sports Editor for Grady's THE SOUTHERNER student newspaper, Plott kept us informed about all things sports via his "The Brice is Right" headline. Early markings of a great newspaper man who made a significant contribution to Journalism. We'll miss you, Plott.

Little boys don't change do they? He was the same as an adult as he was when we played together as children...it is superb to see how much Plott was admired and loved by his family and peers. I am honored I was a part of his journey. Diane...please contact me as time permits. God Bless and each of you are in our prayers.
All the very best.
