Upshaw and I have been friends for a long long time. Besides graduating the same year we served as sponsors for the 50th class reunion.
Ernie and I always enjoyed seeing him any time, anywhere. Usually in Athens at UGA meetings, or better, at UGA football games. He will be missed by many. My sympathy to all the family.

Upshaw had many credits for a life well lived, but he had hero status with me as a P-47 pilot in World War Two. God bless him.
Our deepest sympathy to all the family from our family. I remember Upshaw so fondly and I know how much it meant to Edwin to have him as a friend and partner. He Ed and Buck made a wonderful trio. I so loved this man! He always had a listening ear, a smile and a caring and helpful way to resolve situations no matter how complicated! He was not only our lawyer for our daughter's adoption and house closings, but a friend to talk with about any issue. Such a joy to have known Upshaw Bentley! Greatly loved and missed! To the family of Mr. Upshaw Bentley, May your sweet memories and thoughts get you through this unfortunate loss. The description of this fine man was of good character and that is few and far between. I am sure he will be missed by many and his wishes would be to say, 'Miss me a little, but let me go.' He will be your guardian angel as the days and months go by. I never had the pleasure of meeting such a kind gentleman. You are in my prayers and thoughts as you transition your lives. As part of Mr. Bentley's "extended family" (Upshaw treated so many folks like his family), I was privileged to treated like someone special to him by this great man. I was not around him much, but he always made me feel important to him. Upshaw, you are missed.

I was sorry to hear of Mr. Bentley's passing. I have known him all my life. My father(J B Warren) and Mr. Bentley were very good friends. They both had connections with Hanna Bat Company. My father was the accountant there. My father passed away 30 years ago. Mr. Bentley was more like a father to me than a lawyer. I loved him like a father. I talked to him about a month ago to tell him of my brother's passing (Steve Warren). He has known both of us since we were kids. Mr. Bentley was a great man and will be missed by me and many other people.
I am very sorry to learn of Mr. Bentley's passing. I remember him fondly as a long-standing friend of my family and next-door neighbor for many years. Deepest condolences from the Chaffin family to Ellen, Mason, John (and your families), and to all who loved him.
Mr. Bentley was indeed one of a kind. His smile, his laughter were all infectious to those who knew him. I will be forever grateful for the time I had him in my life.
