To a person I respected greatly.

We will miss Harris - her presence was always inspiring whether it was professionally or in the many activities many of us shared with her. She spent many years promoting programs in the school system that extended beyond the field of science.

"Miss Kandel" was my biology teacher at Savannah High more years ago than I care to count. She did a great job and I admired and liked her very much, as did many others. My sincere condolences to her family.

I remember with fondness Harris and her Oatland Island colleagues with whom I was acquainted when I lived in Savannah during the 1980s and worked with the United Way. Sending sincere condolences to her family and Low Country friends.

Harris Lentini was one of a small group of women who had the strength and foresight to establish SAFE Shelter in Savannah in 1979. At the time, there were very few such shelters in the country. Since then, SAFE Shelter has seen thousands come through it doors to escape the violence in their own homes. And thanks to this group of women, no one in any shelter program or service has been killed by her abuser. Harris, you will be missed, Cheryl Branch, Executive Director, SAFE Shelter

I can not believe she is gone. Harris was an amazing spirit. Her zest for life was evident. She definitely had a life well lived. Her love for her family was present in every conversation with Harris. I am deeply saddened that she was taken from us so soon. She will truly be missed!

"She opened up the world for them." Isn't this what we all hope to accomplish for our youth? What an inspiration she was for hundreds of individuals. Thank you, Harris.

Such a delightful lady, I am a better person for knowing Harris and calling her friend. Prayers lifted up for her family.
