Meeting Joe for the first time, was like meeting a long lost friend! His humor, smile and zest for life was unlike anyone else I have ever met. It was such an honor to know him. Trips to the Automotive Center will never be the same. My heart weeps for his family and friends and yet rejoices knowing he is once again with his wife.

Joe was an institution at UGA and will be greatly missed. He was the bright spot before 20 years of road trips and never failed to admonish us to "Be good, now!" He kept us safe as we explored Georgia. I always admired his attention to detail, his systematic methodology, his collection of found objects, and his devotion to his long-lived office plant draped from the ceiling grid by paper clips. Joe will never, ever be forgotten. My heart goes our to Linda, Felicia and Jamie, as well as his family, and hope that we all share stories of Joe for years to come.

Joe had such a positive outlook on life & I, along with countless others, will miss deeply his smile at the motor pool! My sincere sympathy to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of a wonderful man who touched so many hearts. I'll miss his jokes, smile and hugs but most of all...I'll miss HIM. We love you Joe (Always Loved & Never Forgotten) - S. Fears

Mr. Joe was the sweetest man on campus. I looked forward to seeing him every time I picked up a vehicle from the motor pool. His smile and laughter always brightened my day. He took great care of all of us and we will miss him. My heart goes out to his family.

I am heartbroken over the loss of Mr. Joe. He was such a wonderful person and friend. He was a true joy to know and work with. Motor pool just wont ever be the same. I've known Joe for many years and had a good friendship with him. Joe will be missed so bad, especially when I go to put gas in the UGA truck. It will be one of the hardest things for me to do knowing Joe won't be there to make me laugh and smile. But, I know he is happy with his beloved wife now and he is so happy! Joe indeed will be missed! Im praying for you the family that God be with you and comfort you during this difficult time.
