As I am in San Francisco, sharing my resume with prospective clients, my work in community service goes right back to Ms. Betts. She was a great hard-driving leader, a professional and personal friend. I'll never forget that she ran me down in Columbus, Georgia after I left my TV reporting position. "Jackie, I hear you're not in broadcasting anymore and you're working as a department store clerk ( she called me at my work number) that's no where for you to be. Randolph and I are offering you a job as copywriter. Ms. Betts, I don't know anything about copywriting. We'll train you! When can you get back to Athens!" Wow, Ms. Betts saved me from myself and got me back on track. That copywriting experience has sustained me through the years. My regret is that see Ms. Betts often enough to tell her how important she was to me and how thankful I am for her mentorship of me. I didn't know it at the time, but she was a life mentor. Every time I spoke with her, I learned so much. God used her to help me be successful and to withstand the challenges of life. I am just seeing this guest book. I want to thank you for allowing me to say that Ms. Betts is a driving force. She was in life and she is in memory as well. Those that got to share with her on a daily basis truly have memories to treasure. God bless her families and friends. Sincerely, Jackie Wright, San Francisco, October 17, 2017...

Mary Betts, there'll never be another like her. I knew Mary as we went through leadership in Pilot International. She was Governor of Ga PI when I zerved as one of ber Lt. Governors. She made you feel special but she brought out the very best in a person. Mary was so many things to so many people and organizations but the greatest was 'friend'. Mary, I didn't keep my promise to come visit but I hope to keep that promise later on and ask your forgiveness.GO DAWGS

I just found out that Mary passed away.
She was my 1st cousin. I surely loved her. She was a very kind and caring person. Always a "Lady". We will miss you but we'll see you again one day.Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Mary was an outstanding leader in Pilot International and a friend to all of us who knew her. She faced every task with style and grace. Those of us who knew her through our organization admired her and will always remember her with love and great respect.

I had the honor of working with "Miss Betts" during my brief tenure at WNGC in the early 90's. She had a great personality and an infectious smile. And I'm NOT about to repeat some of the stories she told! But you can be sure they were entertaining and that the MAJORITY of them were true! I'll see you in a while, Miss Betts. We love you.

I will always remember Mary Betts fondly. She was an inspiration to women and especially to all Pilot Club Members. She never met a stranger and when you were sharing a conversation with her you felt as if there was no one else around, but the two of you.

Over the years I had gotten to know Mary and she was always a strong, gracious, and lovely person. I always enjoyed talking with her. May she rest in peace.

I have always known her as AUNT Mary. She was truly the greatest lady I have ever known. May God Bless her family for I know they will miss her.

Mary Betts was a gracious lady and a dear friend. Mary helped to organize the Classic City Pilot Club of which I am a charter member. We shared many wonderful memories through the years. I will always be grateful to have known her and called her friend.
