I had the honor of being a student teacher in Mrs. Edwards first grade class at IOH school in 1971. It was because of Mr. and Mrs. Edwards' guidance that I applied to and was hired by the SCC school system. I retired after 30 years. I would often see Mrs. Edwards at the Piggly Wiggly in Sandfly. It was always a pleasure talking with her. Many people in Savannah,GA were touched by Ruth Edwards and share in your great sense of loss. Mary Ellen Henning

I remember many things about my cousin, Ruth. That includes when she and Thomas married. They were the first fans of the UGA bulldogs football that I knew about. Since the cousins have gone many ways I haven't seen her in several years. I am sorry we didn't keep in touch better. I have just been told about her death, and I have a Doctor's appointment at 2:15 here in Augusta, My Prayers for her family. Grief is not easy.

I only had the pleasure of meeting your sweet mother once, but she was obviously a gentle, elegant soul. I know she will be missed greatly. Our hearts go out to all of you.
