My name is Pam (Kepke) Johnson and for those that don't know me or how I fit into this family here is a little history. In 1968 we went to a Church called Wilshire Presbyterian Church. There my parents met Phyllis and Whitey Ulrich and several others that quickly became their close friends for life. For years after, there were memories made with both our families, lots of parties, holidays and an Ulrich/Kepke road trip to Nebraska. For the next 45 years I continued my close friendship with daughter Laurie and adopting Whitey as my dad. Apparently my dad knew I needed a father figure in my life and his best friend was the chosen one. I was so lucky to have had 2 wonderful DADS in my life.
A few months ago we were sitting on the couch and Dad said he has lived a full life and did not fear death. It made me admire him more for his courage to enter death without fears. Dad was well-loved and he had done so many things in his life and I'm sure he'll do much more in heaven. I will forever be grateful that Whitey was there to take over when my father passed away. All the memories I have shared with him will forever be cherished and remembered. DAD you will forever live in my heart.
So at this moment when we are about to lay his body to rest, let's all think back and remember how Whitey touched our lives. We should all be thankful that we were given the chance to have known such a wonderful man.
Dad you will forever be missed but I know in the right time, I will meet you again. Say hi to my Dad for me.
