Though I never met Ed his love for you was reflected through your devotion and love for him. Please accept my condolences and I hope you find comfort in his lasting love.

I was blessed to know Ed. Our daily routine together was always interesting and fun to say the least. I know that he was always thinking and analyzing everything that was going on around him. Behind that simple little grin, he would speak volumes to me regarding what ever situation we were in. He was a unique and gentle soul. Despite his illnesses, he never really complained or lost his self-determination. Ed always enjoyed talking about his time at Stanford and his early years in San Marino, so I called him the "San Marino Flash". He absolutely beamed when his family was discussed and lit up when his children were with him. He was very proud of his wife, Pat, and their home in Tustin.
It was a pleasure to get to know Ed in his later years. He was a true gentleman and had a kind soul. May God bless him and give him new freedom in a perfect body.

I so enjoyed the conversations I had with Ed when we had the opportunity to see each other at Ted and Kim's. Pat, remember all the good times.

Tricia....In A Sketch of the Past, Virginia Woolf wrote, "One's life is not confined to one's body and what one says or does." A life is related "to a larger design, a pattern hidden behind... “daily life. It seems so terribly simple: our lives as words.” .... so we pause and consider, your step-father's life as “words”....
A “life as words” go forth…yet there is so much we don't see nor understand….but we know a legacy is left...we know he is simply at rest in God's loving presence ...we know that this greatest Glory awaits each of us.
An era has ended and he has passed on his torch/wisdom to his family…. that is woven into your own unique legacy … may the Lord love, care and comfort during this time of grieving... my condolences...loving prayers, Karen

“Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
But only he, who sees, takes off his shoes,”

Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Aurora Leigh

My deepest sympathy goes out to Pat, Sue, Ted and Jeff and families. My mom and dad loved Ed and so very much enjoyed the good times they spent with Ed and Pat. He will be missed.
