San Francisco will always be our city. I miss you so much ! My dear friend at the DA's office so respected you and you did not get to meet him. We were going to. But, he called and wishes he had of met you. He said you were special, a rare, very old school, ethical, good, really good cop. .... Man. He told me I was lucky to of known you. He also said that your true love was teaching new police officers. And teaching them well, to be really good officers. May they learn from this. I have never met a man of more ethics, honesty, loyalty and love in my life... Life is not fair, but I am still here for you...forever and ever ! San Francisco..

Mike, the news of your passing saddened my heart. Memories of growing up as school mates at Immaculate Heart or Mary and playing Little Leauge baseball together fills my mind with fond memories. Growing up right around the corner as kids, riding my bicycle or home made scooter to to your house... And then, after all these years gone by... You would pop into my life in the most surprising ways as we grew up and became adults. That
unmistakeable grin is forever etched in my mind. R.I.P. My friend, till we meet again... Your old buddy, "Ricky" Mendez
RIP Mike. You have left behind a lot of grieving people in the family and friends that have known you during your lifetime. Thank you for the memories that I carry because they are so filled with laughter. You always made our day in Comm!! It was a privilege to be a part of your life.
I worked with Mike in the 1980's at UCI. He really impressed me knowing what he wanted to do with his life. I respected him and liked him alot, he was a good person, he knew my wife and she thought he was a wonderful person
Mike, you were my husbands dearest friend. Tom told me many stories of the great times you shared growing up, and how special it was that your mother, Virginia and his mother, Lucy also were the best of friends. Your lives seemed to run parallel as you both pursued careers in Law Enforcement. I am honored to have known you as a friend and fellow detective. You will forever be close in Tom's heart. Rest in Peace
