Kenneth Bechtol Obituary

Bechtol, Kenneth
Kenny was born in McKinney, Texas to Nena and Walter Bechtol and delivered by his grandfather, a horse and buggy doctor. After serving in the Army Air Corp, he moved to California to join his parents. He met his wife, Joyce Elaine Mathews at the First Baptist Church of Santa Ana where they became longtime members. They were married on November 11, 1950. Kenny worked for the Barqs bottling company a short while, then spent 35 years working for Southern California Edison in Santa Ana until retiring in 1986. He was an active officer in Union Local 47 while at Edison. Kenneth also served as the senior member of the executive board of the Orange County Central Labor Council. Kenny was a resident of Santa Ana, California for 68 years until moving with Joyce to Yucaipa, California to live with his youngest son and family. Ken passed after a short battle with cancer. Kenny is survived by his wife, Joyce and their 3 sons: Kevin (wife Shelia); Marlon (wife Lori with grandkids Matthew, Stephanie and great grandkids Colin, Lucas, and Owen); Logan (wife Pam with grandkids Jacob, Samuel, Timothy, and Charity). www.fairhavenmemorial.com

I worked with Kenny at Santa Ana in the late 60's and early 70's. He was a joy to work with. Sorry for your loss. I read of his passing in the Local Lines of the Electrical Worker.
