Coach Majerus always asked about my family, would always call me back, taught me incredible amounts of basketball, considered me a friend. I worked his Medalist All-Star camps in Naperville, Illinois for many years - what a great experience! My older son's first overnight camp was at Utah; he loved it. Coach's love of life and basketball extends to players I coach today. I will miss him deeply. My sympathy to Rick's family. I know he is moving salt and papper shakers with John Wooden at this moment; I would guess my own father - who met Rick in the 1980's - is looking over their shoulders.
Love you, Coach

RIP Coach Majerus. Rick Majerus was and always be a very revered figure in Wisconsin sports long after he left America's Dairyland in 1987. He was more than willing to provide a voice to all four of Wisconsin's D1 college basketball teams struggling to find respect. Despite I am a Badgers fan, we have always treasured the contributions he has made.

I had the opportunity to get to know Rick when I was a student at Marquette University 77-81. Yes, he got excited as a coach, but off the floor, he was a warm and compassionate person. He will be missed by many
