Saddened to hear of Tom's passing. We were in 2/1 together and 2/9 on a float in the Western Pacific. He had a foot locker of cabernet Savignon that we consumed while playing chess at Camp Fuji. Great guy. Great Marine. -Bill Stephens LtCol USMC (ret)

Sending my heartfelt sympathy to Diane during this most sorrowful time.  The love and support Tom and Diane had for each other was truly inspirational. I admired Tom for his courage as a marine during the Vietnam War, his love for his country and his fellow marines.  I was grateful for his service and sacrifice to the country of my birth, the Republic of Vietnam.  Tom was a man of the highest principles and integrity.  He was also known for his warmth and generosity of spirit.
This year was the first time America celebrated Fourth of July without this patriot and great American hero. It was a holiday I always had the honor to spend with Tom and Diane.  I spent many Christmas and Thanksgiving  with them as well.  They so graciously opened their home to friends and invited marines and sailors who were away from home to share a warm and welcoming family dinner.  I have sorely missed Tom and Diane since their move to Virginia two years ago. I lost a dear friend but though Tom may no longer be present with us, he will always abide in my heart.

Deepest and sincerest condolences to Tom's family and close friends. All who knew him, no matter how briefly, will never forget the dynamic man he was. At true inspiration to all. Semper Fidelis.
