I first met Ed over 30 years ago when he was controller at Fought and Company and managed to stay in contact over the years until we became business associates during the final years of his career. Without explicitly acknowledging it, Ed was a mentor in the way he related to clients, and people in general, truthful but still with a kind word. Ed was always organized and orderly, a trait I admired but haven't quite adopted for myself. Wish he were still here to offer some guidance, but mostly I'll just miss the idle conversation with a friend.

Myrnie and family, again our deepest condolences for your loss.
Ed was my very first boss at Fought & Co in 1978 and he was a wonderful boss who was so fair, kind and I considered him a real friend.
I will always remember both your kindness to us girls in the office for treating us to your fabulous luncheons in your home so we could see the slides of your recent trips. He also was so kind to take us girls out to lunch. But then that was Ed. Wonderful memories.
It was a very sad day for me when he left Fought but then it also was a great opportunity for him to start his own accounting business. But I still missed him because I learned so much from him.
I will always have such great memories of the two of you, you were a very special couple.
I will keep in touch.
Dena (Gary) Glandon.

Although I've know Ed in church for many years,it's been such a pleasure to get to know him more the past few years. I counted on his honesty, his ability to see situations clearly without malice, his generous and kind spirit, his dedication to his family and his gratefulness for friends, for life and his faith in God. There's an empty place in my heart for Ed but I'll give many hugs to you Myrnie, and that will help. Please accept my condolances. Alhough I only met Mr. Hefty briefly during his final days, both him and the whole family has left a deep impression on me. I pray that you will be comforted by our precious Heavenly Father, the Father of mercy and the God of all comfort, with the gentleness and compassion only He has. It was a great honor to meet Ed. B.
