I apologize for a misspelling in my previous message! Grace lit up any room she entered. Let me share with all a short poem I wrote several years ago to help another along the road of grief:
Faded Blossom
When one blossom fades away,
another is there to take it's place,
the journey of life continues it's
even pace.
And
so it is with the human soul, when it
leaves the earthly space another
form now takes it's place to help
us along our way when sorrow
touches upon our earthly time.
For you see
The one now gone is not
forgotten, for she is sealed
forever in the memory of
the heart.

I just learned of Grace's passing and want to express on behalf of the David Douglas Historical Society our heartfelt sympathy for the family's loss of such a beautiful individual,a wife, a mother and a leader. Her smile always lid up any room she entered..the Historical Society in which she was so active, has many, many photos of Grace in the multitude of tasks she took on for the organization. Personally, as a 1958 graduate of DDHS I vividly remember Grace from those early years attending school events and celebrations. The David Douglas Community was well served by this generous and gracious lady.

We are so sorry for your loss. It is a wonderful family, lead by a wonderful mother and father. Our community has been so enriched by all of them. We should all be so lucky to be such good parents.

So sorry for your loss. Grace was aptly named as she was an elegant lady full of grace. I first met her as a young wife of a Kiwanis president when she was our advisor. She made feel so comfortable. Many years later we reconnected at Leach Botanical garden where I volunteer. After finding out I was the English Tea Chairman she offered to give me some of the lovely china tea cups she had collected. I came to her house and she gave me several beautiful ones that Howard had given her. We use them each summer at the Teas and I think of her each July when I see them.
