he was a amazing Dr and I was recommended to him by a different Dr but my 2 or third time seeing him was the last and we got called to give info about him since apparently we were his last patient
I just learned that this great man passed away last year and my heart breaks for his family. My husband was severely ill in 2007 and no one knew why. He was sent from Doctor to Doctor until he found someone who cared deeply... Dr. Demerell was our hero. Someone who worked hard to find the answers others were too busy for. He helped heal my husband. I am crying thinking of his family as our three kids are almost the same ages. What a wonderful, talented, and compassionate man. Thank you for finding the answers to my husband's illness... I am sorry no one found answers for yours in time.
It has been a little over a year since Dr. DeMerell left us and my heart still breaks every time I think of him. I think about his beautiful wife and beautiful children and I am unable to comprehend that great loss. You will always be missed and you will always be in our hearts.
My family is so sorry to learn of Dr. Demerell's passing and will always think of him fondly. He was the specialist who first diagnosed my daughter's allergy to peanuts as well as her asthma. He helped her to get her asthma under control. He taught us how to help turn her peanut allergy into a sensitivity and she can now enjoy an occasional peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I was just going to make an appointment when I learned the news. It's been so long since we needed an office visit. May all your memories bring you and your family much joy and help ease your grief.
To the Family, Friends, Patients and Colleagues of Dr. DeMerrell:
It has been difficult to sit down and write this as I can't stop crying whenever I think about the loss you must all be suffering. My daughter, Megan, became his patient 5 yrs. ago when she was 17. After spending her life being sick all the time and having docs treat her as if she was depressed or hormonal, Dr. DeMerrell was able to determine that her illnesses were complicated by an improperly functioning immune system. What a relief!! We weren't crazy after all!! Ultimately, we only saw him a few times but if was quite comforting to "understand" why Megan was always sick. It also empowered us to manage her condition better. Last year, Megan suffered a Serious Life Threatening Event and during the crisis, I had called his office to get records forwarded to me. Not only did I get the records promptly, Dr DeMerrell called me at home personally a few weeks later to "check" on Megan's recovery but also answer any questions we might have. He only saw her maybe fewer than six times!! The doctors who saw her regularly NEVER spent that kind of time with her!!
In addition, Megan's father became disabled three years ago and as we've had to "fight" to get his diagnosis (he also has a "rare" condition), and disability, we have had the unfortunate necessity to seek treatment and care from MANY providers and I can assure you (as if you didn't already know) that Dr. DeMerrell was a RARE practitioner and indeed, a "special" man.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you whose lives have been affected by his passing but mostly my thoughts are with his patients who relied on him and his wife and children. As the years go by, I hope that these remembrances as well as the many remembrances you all have of him will help fill the void for his children as they try to "know" their father.
Megan and I had just been to see him about a month before his passing. We we supposed to follow-up in December. We should all be reminded by these things that life can be cut short in an instant and to be "present" in the moment, something Dr. DeMerrell always was when we saw him. For that, we thank him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this great loss (his family & the community). Dr. DeMerell was such an awesome and amazing doctor! I had been seeing him for years for allergies and immunology issues and I have to say, he was always so patient, kind, very personable, and passionate about the care he gave me. These days, it is so rare to find such a great doctor that you can just trust to care for you, and now that he's gone, it's hard to imagine who might fill his shoes. He will be truly missed! My heart goes out to you, Connie, and your beautiful children! May God bless you always!
I just learned Of Dr. DeMerrel's passing today. It was such a shock. He is only a year younger than I am. I had one appointment with him after I had a serious allergic reaction which caused asthma like symptoms. He helped me to gain control so I wouldn't need medications and diagnosed several allergies I never knew I had. During that first visit, the kindness and compassion he showed was amazing. He took the time to really know me and my medical history. Heaven has gained a wonderful soul and I will miss him.
We miss you, Dr. D! We are so grateful for all the tips and tricks you have given us over the years! And for your un-failing med combo that keeps us out of the ER!
Our prayers continue to be lifted over your beautiful family!
OMG, I can't believe we lost such a valuable person.. this is just not at all fair!!!!!!!!!
i only met him once, but could tell he had a passion for his profession. i will pray for his family.
It is really sad to know about Dany`s passing. We really had a great time having met him during our time of training in New Orleans. He was an excellent friend and colleague. We will always remember his smile and enthusiasm. Our thoughts and prayers are for Connie, their loved children, parents and siblings.

My heart goes out to Connie and the children for your loss. Dan was a wonderful person and will be missed. I cannot even begin to understand what his family must be going through. My condolences.
I met Dan in 1998 when I was a visiting 3rd year student at Tulane. I admired his affection to both profession and patients, and appreciated his colleagueship and humor. Haven´t heard of him since, but never forgot him as a role model. Deepest sympathies to his loved ones.
I just learned of the passing of Dr. Dan DeMerrell. I was referred to him, at age 53, by my primary physician because of my out of control asthma. He immediately helped me start taking live back from my disease and start vastly improving my quality of life. When I would have a setback he would patiently remind me of how far I had come and how I was, at last, really beginning to be able to do the outdoor hiking, kayaying, and other things I had dreamed of. If he could take so much interest and time to help improve the life of just one patient, I know he must have helped hundreds, if not thousands of others, with everything he has been involved in in his short time giving to us. I hope that the family knows we, his patients, extend our sympathy for their great loss.
Dr. DeMerell was a kind, bright, funny and a personable doctor. I loved how open he was about his love for his children, sisters... Especially the death of Beth, and love for his family! How often do you get to hear the personal side of the doctor treating your children? He humanized health care and leveled the playing field for doctor patient relations. When asked about his family... He eagerly shared... When speaking of my own cancer with him... He compassionately listened and connected through his sister Beth. To his parents, sister, children and wife my heart breaks but our love for you and his love for you will be with yours forever. Until you all meet again, may you find peace!
I just found out about Dr. DeMerrell's passing and am very sad to know that such a wonderful, incomparable Dr. is no longer with us. I feel blessed to have been seen and treated by him. My original Allergist had called in that day and he filled in for him. Right away, I knew he was a unique, sincere and truly caring doctor so I stayed with him. He helped me find out about a separate medical condition that I was developing which other doctors had missed seeing. He was just simply amazing! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. May he rest in eternal peace.
I will always remember how Dr .Daniel Demerell made time to understand and know me and my health history, family health history, and do everything he could to get me back to optimal health. He was a very warm friendly human and it does not come as a surprise he was so loved and admired by so many others from all walks of life and places throughout the country and beyond, most obviously by his family and friends. I will miss my visits with him and the good medical advice he always gave. May he rest in eternal peace.
I have been so sad hearing of the passing of Dr.Demerell. The first time we met him I knew he was worthy of our trust..based on how caring he was to my daughter. I was so scared about all that was going on with her asthma induced allergies, as well as seasonal allergies that were out of control. Dr.D was so kind, he always shook my daughters hand and spoke right to her. The last visit we had with him he praised her work.. And accimplishments! He always made her feel heard..and valued. We are so privledged to have crossed paths in this life with him! What an amazing doctor! As you grieve this great loss.. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. DeMerell's passing. He was an excellent and caring physician, and the world has lost a shining star. I remember feeling as if it was as important to him as it was to me to have my then egg-allergic toddler son receive the H1N1 vaccine the year of the outbreak, and he arranged for us to spend half the day at his Vancouver clinic. I'll never forget his kindness. My deepest sympathies to his wife, children and family.
Although I only met Dr. DeMerell briefly during patient care, I could tell he was very special. He listened to my concerns and was very compassionate. My prayers are with his family.
Greetings and our condolences from the University of Arizona, where Dan became a physician. In our Global Health Program we knew him in the early 1990's, including our Global Health course in 1994. Now,in this sad reunion via his obituary, we join you all in praying for the family and for the light and the legacy Dr. DeMerell leaves us all. If, in time, you wish any informational "momentos" of his time here, I trust we can find that.
Meantime we join our hearts and thoughts with yours for tomorrow's memorial service.
Ronald Pust MD,
Co-Director, Global & Border Health Program, University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathy for all of you. He was a wonderful, compassionate man,who will truly be missed.
To say that Dr Demerell hugely impacted the life of my family is an understatement. When we first saw him we were overwhelmed and had no idea how to have normal lives while still keeping our child safe. Every time we saw Dr Demerell he answered all of our many questions thoroughly, with a smile, and did not leave the room until he made sure all of our questions were answered. He was an amazing person and will be deeply missed. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
My prayers are with you and your family Connie. You are thought of and loved. I am so sorry for your loss. Peace.
Sr. Mai, FMSR
I was blessed to be referred to Dr. DeMerell to check on my daughter's allergic reactions to antibiotics. He was knowledgeable, smart, attentive and thorough in his investigations and advice. Like others I also am very sorry and shocked to know that he has passed away. It's hard to believe that he won't be there when we need his expertise. A lot of patients and their anxious families will miss him. It was a privilege and a blessing that God gave us such a special, caring and amazing person, though he is no more. I send my prayers and blessing to his precious young children and the rest of his surviving family members during this time of your grief. May your heart be filled with peace, comfort and love.
I received allergy shots for 5 years so I was fortunate to see Dr. DeMerell on a regular basis for 8 years. He was one of the most kindhearted and sympathetic doctors I have every known. I had an appointment with him several months ago during a time of health stresses in my own family. He took the time to support and encourage me and shared about his care of his sister Beth. I asked him about his 2 little boys & he was thrilled to tell me that he now had a little girl. Even with all of his medical accomplishments, I could see that his family was his passion and priority. Dr. DeMerell's selfless efforts to help both young and old is inspirational. Praying for God's peace and comfort for his loving family and supportive medical staff.
We were surprised & saddened to hear of Dr. DeMerell's passing. He was our son's allergist since he was a baby. He was always so kind, compassionate & wonderful to not only our son, but to all of us. Our thoughts & prayers go to his family.
Oh my. We had a referral to this wonderful man and had postponed contacting him because of making arrangements to be in Oregon, and now we have lost our chance. It's clear he was an exceptional person, and how wonderful that he had 44+ years in which to make an impact and create such a legacy and build loving lasting glorious relationships! I'm sorry we didn't meet him but glad for those who got benefit from his skills and gifts! Very sad for his family, and I hope the how/why of his death will help others as well. Kindest wishes to all!
Everything is in God hands. He knows why.
We are a family from your St. Pius Community and school. Although we have not met (yet), we are keeping you and your children in our daily thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing Dan's story. He was obviously a very special man to so many. I am so sorry for your loss.
Prayed for the family. May Gods healing bring you peace.
I worked with Connie breifely in New Orleans and remember how much admiration she had for her new husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you Connie and your children. I am truly so sorry for your loss.
Our family was shocked and saddened to learn of Dr. DeMerell's passing. He was our son's allergist for several years. He was always so kind, patient, and informative. His gentle, compassionate manner helped so much as we learned how to control our son's allergies and asthma. At every visit he made us feel as if he had all the time in the world for us, that our comfort and understanding were important to him. We will be praying for his family.
I am so shocked to hear of Dr. DeMerell's passing. He has been monitoring our families allergies for the past eight years and has helped us so much. Our condolences to his family - who he always spoke about with such love and joy. I can't begin to express our appreciation at how much he helped my daughter with a serious nut allergy and with his identification and assistance with my son's seasonal allergies. Dr. DeMerell will always be remembered in our family for his wonderful kindness, humor and caring demeanor.
Dan and I met - on the phone. He reached out to collaborate on a patient, a young girl, he truly cared about. That was the beginning of our friendship and collegial relationship.
He never retreated from the difficult. My physician colleagues in Seattle knew that about him. And we appreciated, admired, and took very seriously, his competence and compassion.
Dan was a lot of fun. Especially when he reminisced with friends. Thinking about all of this brings a happy smile to my face.
There will be no one like him to come along again.
He is missed on so many levels, in so many lives.
I am grateful he made that call, and that I was able to know him as a doctor, a peer and a fine human being.
I grew up as Dan's Next door neighbor and close friend from grade school through most of high school. Though we lost touch after high school I knew he would do great things with his life. From reading his bio he did accomplish many things. My condolences to his wife, kids, and his parents. I was just thinking of him last month and it make me very sad to hear of his passing. I have many fond memories of all the fun we had growing up. I would have loved to see him and hear about all his travels and relationships. God Bless
I am still in shock that Dr. DeMerell is no more. My kids loved him and he had a beautiful soul. I pray for Connie and kids to find the strength and support during an extremely difficult time. You will be missed dearly.
Our hearts go out to you at this most difficult time. We are praying for you and your family.
Our world lost a very fine man. His endless contributions touched and influenced so many of us, so often. Daniel taught us by example how to live a rich, compassionate life. As I seize the vastness of this very moment, very sad indeed, I know Connie will search for meaning in her new life and that of their beautiful children Keegan, Finn and Gracie by constructing moment by moment, day by day to ensure we all continue to simply appreciate the sunset, or feel the breeze on our faces. Daniel would like that. Forever grateful I had the privilege of sharing his amazing world.
What an incredible loss. My heart is heavy for his lovely family. Dr. DeMerell was such a kind and giving person, and made such a tremendous difference in the quality of my life. May his family find strength during this heart breaking time.
It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Demerell and will always have great memories. He was an amazing MD and and amazing person. My deepest condolences to all of you.
Dan was a wonderful colleague, friend, and physician. He made significant contributions to allergy and immunology as an executive council member of our state society, OSAAI. I will miss seeing Dan at our annual meetings. He brought optimism, an inquisitive mind, a voice of reason, and a willing attitude. His example of service will continue to inspire his colleagues. Until we meet again, my friend...
I am so sad to learn of our loss of Dr. DeMerell. I am a medical transcriptionist who transcribed some of Dr. DeMerell's dictations. I didn't know him, but I felt like I knew him a little because of listening to his dictations so often over the past few years. I will miss hearing his voice and the concern he felt for his patients that I could hear in his voice. I will be keeping all of you in my prayers.
I can't believe Dr. D won't be around when I visit the shot clinic tomorrow! He is one of the most sincere and caring persons I ever met. I don't have words to express how shocked and saddened I am. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy and spirit continue to live in us all.
Dr DeMerell was my daughters allergy doctor. I was always so impressed by him. He usually was running late but that was because he was spending extra time with patients including my daughter. I was convinced my daughter had a food allergy but he convinced me she did not and that she had really bad pollen allergies. He helped us find a treatment plan that really helped her. He always took the time to greet me and my daughter Natalie with a handshake. I could really tell that he truly cared and wanted to help. I am so sad to hear of his passing. He was a very special person and the best doctor I have ever met. You could tell he wanted to make a difference and help children. A truly gifted and talented person lost too soon. Prayers to his wife and children.
Connie and family:
I am still heartbroken from his passing. There are no words to describe the sorrow and the sadness that so many of us are probably feeling because he is no longer with us; however, he left a beautiful legacy and he will always be in our heart.
I had the pleasure of working with him and those times will always bring the best memories. He was an amazing MD and and amazing person. My deepest condolences to all of you.
My son and I were both patients of Dr. DeMerell. He was such a kind and sincere person. Our prayers go out to his family, friends and co-workers.
Dr. DeMerell was one of a kind, and I will miss him. He helped me to control my asthma like no other doctor I've ever had. He listened, and his goal was the same as mine - under control so it didn't interfere with my activities with as little mediation as possible. My sincerest condolences to his family in the time of great loss.
I am shocked and deeply saddened that Dr. Demerell has passed away. He has truly been a God send for my sons who both have life threatening nut allergies. He always took time to answer questions and spent time actually getting to know us. We will forever be grateful and remember him as being a kind and caring man. May God bless his family and help them find peace and solace.
Connie, I was so sad to hear about Dan's passing. I am so terribly sad for you and your family!!!!! It feels like yesterday when we were all working together in New Orleans. I hope God gives you strength to get through this terrible time. Know that I am praying for you. Miss you lots.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. You blessed us with your encouragement that our child could live fully despite her severe allergies. You put new life into our lives by your important work. You will be greatly missed. Thank you for all you gave to us and our community.
My family is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Demerell. He was so kind and had such a warm spirit while caring for our 5 year old son. He was exactly the kind of physician any parent would want for their child. Irreplaceable. I wish his family peace and comfort at this time.
Dr. Daniel DeMerell was an amazing doctor and will be missed greatly. So very saddened about his passing. Blessings to his family.
Dr. DeMerell was an amazing physician and very caring man. I am shocked and saddened by his passing. He has been our 11 year old son's Doctor for about 3 years and we will truly and deeply miss him. He helped our son greatly with aggressive treatments for his severe seasonal allergies and has made a huge positive impact on our lives. He will be missed.
In his too short life Dr DeMerell accomplished so much. His passion for helping others was awesome and inspirational. He made everyone feel important and gave hope to all. He worked so hard to alleviate suffering and treated everyone with kindness and respect. As my doctor, he improved the quality of my life. As a colleague he made me feel respected and honored. Universally his patients recognized how unique and special he was and are now devastated by his loss. I find his passing has affected me deeply and can only imagine how much harder it is for his family, close friends and co-workers. He was a wonderful, gentle man and the love, caring and kindness he gave to all will be remembered. The community and indeed the world, has lost a truly great man. I believe his dreams will be carried on and look to a future where his legacy thrives. He spoke so fondly of his family. I pray that you find solace in the many wonderful memories. He loved you with all of his very big heart and with all the power in his soul.
It was four years ago this month that I came into his office barely breathing. His immediate concern for me was amazing. When I saw him a couple of weeks ago he even remembered that May was the month that I first came in. Simply amazing that he cares that much about his patients. He was the kind of man that if he saw you outside of the clinic, he was say hi to you. Dr. DeMerell was the most down to earth physician I have ever met, talking to me to help me become educated in my health. Dr. D and his staff saw me through four years of college. I always brought homework with me because I never knew if it was a 30 minute appointment or a three hour. He was always interested in what I was doing. He will be greatly missed. May God wrap His arms around the family in their time of need.
Shock, disbelief, and sadness don't begin to describe my reaction to the news that Dr. DeMerell is gone. I will miss his warm smile and firm handshake as he would enter the examining room addressing me by name and making me, his patient, feel that he had all the time in the world for me. Compassionate and caring, Dr. DeMerell epitomized the type of doctor that we all hope to have treating us. He was my allergist for 7 years, and I will miss him greatly. My thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences go to Connie, his loving children, extended family members, and professional associates and friends during this difficult time. Dr. Daniel DeMerell - a good soul gone from this earth far too soon. May he rest in God's peace.
I am sad and so sorry to hear of Dan Demerell's passing. He was an outstanding colleague to many of us here in the Portland pediatric community. My thoughts are prayers are with his family.
Dr.Demerell was like no other doctor. My 10 year old daughter has a life threatening food allergy and asthma. He welcomed her at every appointment with a handshake and a smile. He put her at ease and gave her hope. He calmed my fears about the food challenge taking the time to answer all my questions no matter how silly. He was on this earth for a purpose and my family feels fortunate to have known him. My thoughts and prayer are with his family. Please everyone honor his hard work and memory by donating to his passion Camp Blue Spruce.
My family and I were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Dr DeMerell's passing. He had the kind of bedside manner you only read about in books and genuinely cared about his patients- both children and adults. The world lost a shining light with the passing of Dr DeMerell, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who knew him.
Dr. DeMerell was one of a kind doctor who we feel privileged to have worked with. He truly had a gift for working with people and in his belief that patients should be involved in their care. Our deepest condolences to his family. May they find peace in knowing the impact he had on so many lives.
We are so sorry to hear of this great loss. I hope Dr. Demerell knew how important he was to so many of us and how much he was loved. He was my daughter's doctor and I always felt like she was in good hands. I trusted him enough to allow her to go through an almond challenge. He was right by our side the whole time. Every time I feed her an almond (a near daily requirement he taught me!) I'll remember that she's able to do that only because of him and I will say thank you. He will be missed.
Dr. DeMerrell will be remembered for his kind heart, knowledge, and always smiling as he entered the room. I often referred my patients to him and was thanked multiple times for doing so. He has brought awareness and support to the community, and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, patients and all those who had the joy of knowing such a wonderful individual.
This news comes with great sadness for a very fine and caring doctor. He cared for my teenage son's allergy and ashma. May he rest in peace.
I miss your sweet soul Daniel DeMerell. This world is so much better for having you in it. I was so very lucky to bask in your sweet, gentle way and watch how your face lit up when you smile. I so that smile when you introduced me to Connie. I knew you had found your soulmate. I pray for your family now and the many, many years to come that have to be without your sunshine.
Dr DeMerell changed our son Andrew's life. Our son has autism and was suffering from seasonal allergies to the point where it incapacitated him for about 5-6 months a year and prevented him from functioning in school. It was very hard to find a Dr who would take the chance and work with our son many thinking it to risky to try. The Dr DeMerell's excellent care for 5 years Andrew basically stopped having allergy symptoms and was able to go to school and learn. This was truly life transforming for Andrew's quality of life. We will forever be grateful. Our deepest condolences to the family. This is a great loss for all of humanity.
Both of my sons saw Dr. DeMerell for the past several years. He always took time to explain all the courses of treatment that they needed and make sure we had the latest research information, etc. We were so shocked and saddened to hear that he died. We're praying for his family, colleagues, and co-workers. Rest in peace.
I was shocked to hear of Dr. DeMerell's passing Tuesday night; he responded to my question at the office earlier that day. My deepest condolences to his family. As one of his patients I will also miss him a great deal.
Dr Demerell will we missed. When I came to him with asthma issues he really cared about how to get them under control and lived with asthma. I will miss him
My daughter Lily was a patient of Dr. DeMerell. We really felt cared for and safe in his practice. We are sad to hear of his death. My heart goes out to his family and all those who worked with him.
Dr. DeMerell was my son's allergist since he was 2. He is now 9. His caring and graciousness as well as his deep knowledge of the field has helped my son to live a healthy confident life with his food allergies. Our hearts go out to Dr. DeMerell's family. I cannot imagine what you are going through but please know that he touched so many lives in a positive way. Our prayers will be with you.
What a shock to hear about Dr. DeMerell's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends. My son and husband both saw Dr. DeMerell for many years until we moved to Idaho this fall. We were so fortunate to have such a wonderful doctor taking great care of our family. He will be missed by many.
We are so sorry for your loss. Dr. DeMerell cared for our daughter since she was just 10 months old. We just saw him a little over a month ago for her 5 year check up. We always appreciated his gentle and caring nature and ability to connect with our little girl. We are truly saddened.
Dr Demerell was one of the kindest most knowledgeable Doctors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My son is very allergic to nuts, dairy and egg. Dr Demerell basically held my son and my hand thru a egg food challenge giving us the courage to eat food that would have caused a hospital visit only two years earlier. Now my son can eat eggs with out fear. Every time I make eggs for my son I think of how he helped my son have the courage to take the food challenge step. He made a real difference in our family's lives and my son's ability to get the nutrition he needs to thrive. Thank you Dr Demerell, you will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to Daniel's wife and his children.
Dr. DeMerell was one of the most compassionate and understanding physicians I have ever met - that means a lot coming from a nurse. He cared for both my children and my husband. He was so attentive and engaging. It was obvious that he wanted each patient to achieve their best. He made me feel like I was not in the fight against my daughter's severe asthma alone. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Connie, our entire family is heartbroken over your loss. There are no words, but please know we are praying that you find the strength you need to get through this. We can't hug you...please know that you are held in our hearts.
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Demerell was such a compassionate and caring doctor. He will be greatly missed. He had a smile on his face whenever I saw him, was genuinely caring of his patients, and had a joy about him. I feel beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to know him as my allergist.
My son has been a patient of Dr. DeMerrell's since he was 18 months old, he is now 6. I am thankful for the time he touched our lives. His team is always my 1st call when he is sickin any way because of the dedication that they show. I am praying for his family & others who are feeling the lost of this wonderful man.
This is such a great loss for Dr. Demerell's family, patients, peers and community. Our family is happy and appreciative to have had Dan in our lives for such a short time. Thank you for the difference that you made in so many of our lives.
I was shocked reading about the passing of such an amazing, young man. I was one of his adult patients and was always so impressed by his gentle spirit. My heart breaks for his family. Thank you for sharing him with us, his patients. He will be greatly missed.
What a great Dr. What a great friend. So knowledgable, so compassionate, so thoughtful and so thorough. He left no stone uncovered in his treatment of my allergies. He cared for the young and he also, cared for those of us over 80. May God bless and comfort his family, friends and patients during these days ahead. With love Beth Flegal
I am so very much going to miss Dr. Demerell, he has been my daughters doctor since she was a baby. He always understood what was going on with her and her Asthma. He saved my daughter life. He loved each of his patients as if they were his own children. I feel so very honored to have known this wonderful man and will never forget what he has done for my Daughter. Thank you Dr. Demerell for everything you have done for my family and the countless others you have helped.
Dr. Demerell was an extraordinary man who will be greatly missed.
I am so very saddened by the passing of Dr. DeMerell. What a wonderful person! My prayers go out to his family and co-workers. May you all find peace.
We're so saddened by the news of Dr. DeMerell's passing. Our family is praying for you all at this time and we are so sorry for your loss. It it a huge loss for the community as well. My husband and I learned so much about managing the allergies and asthma in our children. He was truly a great physician and empowered his patients and their parents. RIP Dr. DeMerell.
We are saddened beyond measure to hear of Dr. DeMerrell's death, especially for his family and for his professional colleagues. He has been our daughter's allergist since she was a toddler, and we have always so appreciated the extra time and care he gave. It was always clear that he had a passion for his work and his patients, and we realized how fortunate we were to have found him. What a true and significant loss for this community.
Oh how we will miss Dr. Demerell! His gentle and humble spirit will not be easily matched! Hands down the most amazing Dr. my family has ever had; we will be hard pressed to find someone who compares! We miss you already and allergy season is barely starting! Praying for comfort and healing during this tragic time!
It's very hard for me to know that one of the kindest men I've ever known is no longer with us. It pains my heart that connie has lost the love of her life but the worst pain I reserve for their 3 beautiful children who won't see his smile or hear laughter every day. My prayers are with you all.
sincerely, Cookie Crawford, South Carolina
Just talked to him last week for my son's allergy reaction, I'm speechless...It's so sad to hear of his passing. My deepest & sincerest condolences to his Family.
We are so truly sorry to hear of Dr. DeMerell's passing. He was my son's allergist for the past 3 years. We couldn't have asked for a more kind and caring person to care for our son. I enjoyed watching their interactions in the exam room, discussing sports like basketball and baseball. He will be missed. God bless.
As a colleague of his, and also his patient, I will remember him for his thoughtfulness and compassion for his field and his patients; children and adults. My family and I mourn his loss and are so sorry. He was a wonderful man. We hope for the ongoing success of his projects, and strength for his family. He will be sorely missed.
