Gloria was a great friend to my mom Kathy Arbuckle. They worked for quite a few years at Boeing together. I'm really not sure if they met through Boeing but growing up as a kid I remember Gloria always coming to visit my mom. I think we even went to the beach together with her one time. Last year I ran into her at the Orowheat bread store in Gresham and she remembered me. She told me that she had come to visit my mom the day after my mom had passed away. I'm glad to have known her and I'm glad my mom had such a great friend, she was a wonderful woman and will dearly be missed
My Mom was so brave in her fight with breast cancer, never complaining when in pain or when she got to tired & weak to leave the house. Instead she would say "I need to be walking then I wouldn't feel so weak" like she could beat this disease with exercise. When the cancer returned 5yrs ago she was worried she wouldn't she my daughter Brittany graduate from High School but she made it to that milestone and in the last few yrs she saw 2 more great grandchildren join the family which gave her so much joy. I know how much you wanted to go to church on Easter so the Lord allowed you to be his guest and now your our guardian angel watching over us from heaven where theres no cancer and I hope they have FROSTYs for you,(P.S. I think I found 50 Wendy's spoons when cleaning your kitchen). I Love You and Miss You, Angie
Gloria and I hooked the same fish once while fishing at Rowe Creek with my dad. She always believed his wild stories (always outlandish or super embellished), she had an unnatural and sometimes freakish ability for falling asleep while sitting straight up, and I loved spending time with her and dad, especially in Central Oregon. She was caring, funny, and thoughful. She was a huge part of our family for a number of years and unfortunately after dad's passing we lost touch. I still tell the Rowe Creek rattlesnake story, and how she believed dad's story about why deer are always in the road--too funny. She was a fantastic lady and I will remember her always. You're in my thoughts Neal, Gail, Angie and Nancy.
MOM YOU HAVE A FLAME FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
Gloria was my dearest friend since we were 18yrs old. We had many happy times together. I will miss her so much,
Gloria was a very special lady, a sweet soul. She and my dad, Grady Hill, dated for a number of years. I have wonderful memories of Gloria--at Dad's place, during holidays, summer picnics, and visits with her at her house. Even when Dad and Gloria weren't dating, my sister and I would meet her for lunch and have a great time together, spending the entire afternoon lingering over lunch, talking, and laughing.
I'll always have a special place in my heart for Gloria. Hopefully, she and Dad are now together in heaven. :)
Gloria and I have been friends for 60 years. We were classmates in The Nursing Program. Her Faith Walk was an Inspiration to all! We shared so many memories ---! Her love for God, Family and Friends was constant and strong.
Our deepest Sympathy to the Family.Gloria will remain in our Hearts Forever! Gloria Celebrated the Greatest Easter Ever!
