My condolences to Kate's family. I met Kate when we were students attending our first Great Works course at Whitman. We later worked as "Para-professionals" in the College's Career Center. She was very kind and intelligent. I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

Our heartfelt condolences to Kate's family on the loss of your beloved daughter, sister and wife. The boys and I will miss warm, witty Kate, and our visits to the city will never be the same. She lived her life with integrity and grace and touched us all deeply.

Kate and I were students together at Whitman College and ran into each other again as neighbors in Minneapolis while she was in grad school. Kate was a gentle, kind, thoughtful and stylish woman and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. We had not been in touch in some time but I miss her. All best wishes to her family and California connections.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Tom and Kate, may you find comfort in my prayers. I will miss Kate dearly, for she was always pleasant and a warm person. I enjoyed our daily chat as we walk to or from work, it was golden. Kate will never be forgotten. She is in a better place now, no more pain, no more suffering.

As I am unable to be there for the memorial for Kate this weekend, I wanted to express my sympathies to Tom and Kate's family for her loss. I worked with Kate at NORCAL for over a decade and will be forever inspired by her courage, tenacity and biting sense of humor. Above all else, she cared. She was one of a kind, and will be missed. Goodbye, Kate.

I will miss Kate and our lunches at the Ferry Building. She loved clam chowder, rolls and of course-extra butter.

I am saddened learning about Kate's passing. She always carried herself with striking elegance and quite fortitude. Before moving to Oregon, she gave me a map of the state pointing the distance of Portland to the small town of Molalla where we now reside. I pray for comfort and strength for the family she left behind.

Kate was a compassionate, immensely intelligent, ethical woman with an incredible sense of style and a wry, nuanced sense of humor. I respected her for her poise, I loved her for her generosity (I still have the blankets she made for my first daughter and will never forget the day she took me on a walk to soothe me after a political fall-out at work), and I grieve her loss. I knew her only distantly and cannot imagine what her loss means to the people who knew her best.

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Kate's family and friends for their loss. I remember Kate fondly, as she was one of the first people I met at NORCAL. In the 10 years that I knew her, she always had a warm smile for me. She will be missed.

I was so sad to learn of Kate's illness and death. I will always remember how kind she was to me when I worked at Norcal, and how often she stayed late to help me and others with problems A real class act who will be sorely missed by us all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kate's family and friends. I worked with Kate at Norcal, and everytime I saw her she was smiling. I will always remember her smile. Rest in peace Kate...

I worked with Kate since I joined NORCAL Mutual Insurance in 2005. She was a wondeful person and I always enjoyed running into her in Alameda when we were out to dinner. She will be very greatly missed.

I am sorry very sorry to read that one of my very favorite tennis players lost her battle with cancer. I only wish I could have kept in better touch with her and her family.
