Dr. Perry always will be the Whitman College President I most admire. He brought high ideals and also the wherewithall to bring the ideals into realities. His quiet demeanor and listening ear and inquisitive mind a model to behold. I treasure my memories of spending one on one time with him....especially a few years ago when he took me around in the little white Mercedes and showed me what the wheat fields of Walla Walla looked like in the fall. He was beaming when we passed the Jones farm! We know he is in peace with "his Gen".

Dear Perry Family
I had the privilege to work with Lou at Standard Insurance for a number of years. One of my fondest memories is when we would have an early meeting in his office. He always had an appointment before mine and that was with The Lord.

He had a tremendous impact on my career and as a man, husband and father.

My prayers are with all of you.

Dear Perry Family,
Your wonderful father will truly be missed. Such a gentle person.

I am Barbara Norton Vandaveer, daughter of Bert and Winkie Norton of Claremont. Mother gave flute lessons to you, Robert, if I remember correctly. It was a pleasure knowing your family as I grew up, and I also had the privilege of meeting with your father here in Portland when he was with Standard Insurance.

My thoughts are with you at this time of loss. You certainly have many wonderful memories, I'm sure.

With love,

Dr. Perry will be missed, but also remembered by those he touched.
