Ove shared his kindness, his wisdom, and sense of humor. There will always be a special place in our hearts, for he touched us all in his special way. Ove was loved and will missed dearly.
I worked with Ove at the Corps of Engineers for 17 years. Major project that I remember was the Bonneville Second Powerhouse. Really appreciated his knowledge during that time.
Ove and I met many times over coffee when I was a young man new to North Pacific Divison. His stories of his work during the Alaska earthquake still remain with me. A good engineer and person.
Doris, Gary and Charlene,
Ove loved his family above all. He was independent, opinionated, sure of himself and had a life well-lived. He'll be missed.

We called Ove our friend for over 40 years, living across the street from him in Mikwaukie for the first 20 years until we moved. Doris was always by his side. He was a very intelligent man, who always like to make a point sometimes acting like a grump, but he had a great heart. Words can't say how much we're going to miss knowing he's no longer with us. But being painfree at last is of great comfort. Our thoughts are with Doris and the whole family..He'll be planting his tomato garden in Heaven for all the Angels to enjoy!!
So sorry to hear of Ove's passing. I used to spend a week every summer with Auntie Didda and Uncle Hans when I was very young. Ove would always take me on an adventure. He took me to the old Portland Zoo where i
I was bittten on my finger by a small spider monkey. From that day forward he always called me spider monkey. I had an occassion to see him at a Dr office I worked at. I called him in my office about a bill he did not have. We made small talk and i worked my father's name into the conversation. He leaped out of his chair and said "oh spider monkey." I was in my fifties then! We always had that bond.
OVE,rest in peace, you and doris helped gary and i keep on the right track many times.your home was a home away from home and your advice to me always helped, thanks
Sorry to hear of Ove's passing. We worked together for several years at a downtown consulting engineers office. Ove usually had definite opinions about many things which made for interesting coffee break conversations.

My sympathies to the family. I had some good conversations with Ove. I knew he was intelligent but didn't realize what an accomplished man he was until I read his obit. I know he will be remembered with love.
Thinking of the family, remembering a long time friend from Franklin High
