I had the privilege of working with Bob during the exciting and successful years of the Atlas Companies. Not only was he a masterful professional in the structural steel industry, he was a world class guy! He possessed drive, spirit and can do attitude that inspired us all! He was also fun to be with off and on the job. I always learned from and chuckled with him at many of his stories. Bob was one of my heroes as we steered the "Good Ship Atlas" forward. We could always count on Bob, as well as on his numbers.
Now when we look at the US Bank Tower, Lloyd Tower, KOIN Center, Harrahs and many buildings in Seattle, we will have to add Bob's memory to those of Gil Guillory, Lloyd Farley, Al Petty, Mary Lukens and so many others who have gone before us. They not only built those great structures, they changed the skylines of Seattle, Bellevue, Portland and Reno forever.
I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great friend. I know you are all so proud of him, and very justifiably so. Bob was a true champion, in so many ways.
