Still thinking about you every day.
Sharon was one terrific person. Foster, your remembrance of her resonates.
It's been a year, honey, since you left us and I love you more than ever. I think about you every day and I'm trying to live the life you wished for me.
Sharon and I met when we were appointed to a Red Cross committee in 1989 to reshape the manner in which Red Cross services are delivered nationwide. In 1991 Elizabeth Dole enticed Sharon to be the senior vice-president of the office that oversaw the delivery of services by Red Cross Chapters nationwide. The following year Sharon appointed me as the volunteer chair of her office. Together we collaborated in the planning and implementation of the 1989 committee's recommendations. Sharon was much loved by the leaders, both paid and volunteer, who were part of the implementation process throughout the nation. Her leadership was, without exaggeration, historic. Sharon once shared with me that her goal in life was to make a difference. Her legacy is that she did make a huge difference for everyone whom she touched in her personal and Red Cross life. Her quick wit, humor, and zest for life will be greatly missed by all of us who had the privilege of being a part of her life.
Still thinking about you every day.
Thinking of you, Kim, Eric, Genevieve and Elise as we all prepare for and welcome another Christmas. I know how much you are missing your mom and grandmother, but are keeping her love and laughter with you, always.
Sharon will be missed by many. I'm so thankful for Sharon bringing my dear friend Missy & her family into my life. Sharon raised a wonderful family and have touched each & everyone of them. Her memories will last a lifetime. My thoughts & prayers goes out to her family during the holidays. Love Tammy
Sharon was like a sister to me. Her life was a true inspiration to all that knew her and I can only hope that I can learn from her examples on how to live life to the max. Your Brother in Law Jim Barnum
I worked with Sharon at the Oregon Trail Chapter, first as paid staff, then as a volunteer. She was the consummate professional; calm in crisis, motivated, always a role model and willing mentor. She empowered the volunteers and was beloved for her many kind acts. She was a true treasure. My deepest sympathy.
What a wonderful legacy she has left for her family!
The very first time I met Sharon I felt I knew her for a very long time. That is how she made me feel. The first time we stayed with Sharon and Foster was in NC. We had only known them for a very short time but they invited us to come down and play golf. Before I knew it Sharon and I were cooking in the kitchen like we had done that for years. It was a wonderful weekend with Sharon and Foster. I'll never forget that time. JoAnn Laux
Sharon and I had a long and meaningful friendship. I will miss knowing that she is just a phone call away. To Foster and Sharon's wonderful girls and their families, may God bless you with His peace and comfort. Love, Kay and Bill
Sharon was beautiful inside and out. She was such a valued part of our Claremont book club and suggested some of our favorite readings. What fun we had in our cooking group of 8 especially eating her homemade desserts. I will always remember her kind spirit and warm smile. She was a gift from heaven above.
I am blessed -- as is everyone -- to have known Sharon all these 30+ years. It is heartwarming to read the sentiments posted here and I can only echo each one.
We will always cherish memories of our Desert Friday golf games with Sharon. We will especially miss her cheerfulness and congeniality. She was a wonderful golf partner as well as a gracious friend.
Sharon was a mentor & my boss for over 6 years and always my friend. My memories of her spirit, integrity, and genuine care for others will be of ongoing guidance for me and others for many years to come. May knowing so many care be of some small comfort to you Foster, Missy, Kim & Suzanne. Karen Sendelback (Park City, UT)
Thank you for summers full of magic and laughter. Thank you for being my role model, carrying yourself with such grace and dignity always. Thank you for being my mom's best friend.
Known to me as "Mrs Ritter" in the early 1970's, Sharon was an inspirational Girl Scout Leader. After many years I remember her enthusiasm, grace, wit and patience! It was not surprising learn of her lifetime roles in Leadership. Wishing her family much Peace during this time.
Fond memories from Red Cross days during the 70's and 80's. We shared many laughs and similar goals.
we are missing you as we celebrate Thanksgiving together as a family. wishing you were here. Sue
It is Thanksgiving and while it is a time of heart wrenching sadness I am also so thankful that Sharon walked into my life. Our friendship was a precious and unexpected gift that I will always treasure. She was wise and fun and one of the women I have most admired. We have so many wonderful memories of the times we shared together. Jim and I think of you all everyday and send our love, Challis and Jim Wright

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I only knew Sharon a short time...she was a member of our "Friday golf group" and we all miss her terribly. I just lost my husband, so I know the loss you are feeling. Sharon was a wonderful person. You and your family are in my prayers.

Sharon was on the Beaverton city council that hired me as City Council. In my 40 years as a city manager Sharon stands out as one of the best, and certainly one of the nicest councilors.
Sharon will be greatly missed in our family. We are all saddened and heart broken by such a sudden loss of someone so dear.

Love you & miss you everyday mom!
I will always remember Sharon for her sense of humor, her friendship, her beautiful art, and for our wonderful golf days here in the desert. Her golfing group will miss her on Fridays in so many ways. I feel blessed to have known her for the time that we had together.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
