I just now found this post. I killed my first deer with Steve in Maynard's Canyon, Tygh Valley, 33 years ago. So much time has passed, yet so much didn't change. I regret not keeping in touch. I am better for having known him.
"There are some some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they are gone the light remains."
Steve was certainly one of these people. I was lucky to have him in my life for a brief time when our children were younger.
Prayers to the family.

My prayers and thoughts go out to Steve's children and family. He leaves behind many special moments you will have of him that will bring back loving memories and joy. Blessings! Bobbi Mills
I met Steve in the fourth grade while playing 'marbles'. He was the kind of person anyone would be proud to call a friend. He was a hard worker at a very young age, very kind, and thought the world of his children. He truly will be missed.
Steve was my cousin. We played together as kids and later in life , my hunting partner and one of my best friends. He helped me with my great loss with his kind thoughts and prayers. I will miss him much.
We remember many fond memories of times with Steve and his family from years ago, when Steve worked for Safeway. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the loved ones he left behind. Steve was a wonderful individual and beautiful family man.
One thing that has been evident to me for many years is that Steve Hemrich loved his children. What a precious man. We look forward to meeting him again on that glorious day. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet The Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with The Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
Steve Hemrick was Kind, Gentle, Understanding, Loving and extremely tough Man who loved his Children and Grandchildren more than live itself. I am sorry that over the last few years I was not able to spend more time talking soccer or hunting with Steve, but I know that my children and I are better for knowing the type of person Steve was. He will be missed, but his spirit lives on in Tyson, Kari and Shauna and his wonderful Grandchildren
