Mr. Akita was a longtime neighbor, a kind and gentle man. Many of the plants and trees in our yard came from his nursery and it was always interesting to visit with him about his products.

My deepest condolences to my cousins Carol, Toni and Mark and to the rest of the Akita family. I was saddened to hear about Uncle Toots' passing. He gave me the love of growing and propagating plants beginning with the excursion he took me to harvest dogwood seeds.

I had the pleasure of delivering lunches to Tom on Tuesdays, i could tell most of the time he was not feeling well or was in pain, but he would Always end the conversation with a smile and hope for tomorrow. that is how i will always remenber him, with hope for tomorrow, rest in peace now, you have fought the good fight and now is your time to be with those you love in their hearts and in their souls.
