I will never forget how he said "Hello Central" from the Astoria office on the OLD telephone system when he needed to call someone. We have joked about it not too long ago. I loved it. Such a great gentleman. Prayers for you Lorene.
I have great memories of spending time with your family in Albany, babysitting and then living with you one summer. So sorry to learn of your families loss of a wonderful man.
Climbed Mt St. Helens with Vic when he was in his 70's; what an inspiration that you can do anything you want if you put your mind towards doing it. Vic was an inspiring person.
We had good times together as members of the Beaverton Lions Club and The Coast Guard Aux.
Vic was one of our wonderful Police volunteers and possessed a great attitude about his volunteer work. I appreciated his work ethic and lovely smile. He was a great inspiration to us all!
I recently met Mr. Mattila's son, Jim at a band practice. Please accept my sympathies for you and your family.
I remember good times with your family as a child in Albany. Thoughts and prayers to all. Sue (Mortensen) Washtok
Vic was a good friend, good neighbor. We missed them when they moved. We enjoyed a few New Year's Eve with Vic & Lorene. Vic was always out mowing his yard. I liked him a lot.
Condolences to Lorene & family.
