My wife and I met Gwen and Bud while I attended medical school on the hill from 1969-1973. I played basketball on the med-dent team coached by Bud Dockery. Gwen attended most of the games providing snacks, support and "class" to our team. We travelled to Neskowin with them and stayed together with other couples in Bud's cabin by the sea. It was a wonderful, lasting friendship filled with great memories. We last visited Gwen three years ago and had dinner with her at John and Donna Dougherty's home. Gwen was sharp as ever and we relived major events in our 41 year relationship. She was a super lady and a true friend. We will miss her but look forward to seeing her again. Jon and Lana Dresser

I'm the daughter of Bill Zimmerman who worked with Gwyn and Bud at OHSU for over 40 years. I know how much he respected Gwyn and cared for her in a time when many professional women were thwarted in their careers by the glass ceiling. Gwyn was one of a kind, and even as a girl and a young woman, I could sense that she was special, and my father knew that. It is so wonderful that Gwyn and Bud got together later in their lives. I know she will be missed, but the family should be proud of this extraordinary woman who accomplished so much both professionally and personally. From my family and my late parents -- Rest in peace Gwyn.

Peace to a woman who radiated light throughout her life.

Gwynn became a member of the OHSU School of Medicine Alliance (SMA) soon after its inception & was one of the longest members. She was active in many SMA activities but the one dearest to her was the Blanket & Books for Babies (BBB) Project. She was one of the main-stays of BBB's ‘packing day' when a blanket, book & layette were packaged for distribution. It was a highlight to see her this past August when she attended the annual garden party fundraiser for BBB. I will greatly miss Gwynn's ready smile & amazing energy.

Gwynn has been a member of the OHSU School of Medicine Alliance (SMA) almost since it's inception in 1946. She was actively involved in many SMA activities but her real interest was in the Blanket & Books for Babies Project. She was always an integral part of the packing day process when the blanket, book & layette outfit were put together for distribution. We feel very fortunate that she was able to attend the BBB garden party fundraiser this past August. She inspired us all with her 'can-do' spirit & spunk. We will all greatly miss her!
