Jim and I were shipmates in Air Wing 17 and aboard FORRESTAL in 1967-68. At the time I reported to Fighter Squadron 74 as Executive Officer, Jim was Executive Officer of Fighter Squadron 11. I last saw him at a nightspot in San Francisco about 1974. Fare thee well, Companion. Tom Wimberly, Captain USN Retired, Corpus Christi, Texas.

I was in VF-102 with Jim during his department head tour as Operations Officer. A good guy and Naval Officer; good sense of humor. He suffered we junior officers well.

I was fortunate to have served with Jim in VF-11. He was my XO & later CO. Jim was a fine Naval officer & an exceptional fighter pilot who led by example. A truly good guy & friend. With sympathy & admiration. Jack Davis
