Mrs. Leigh was my beloved 4th grade teacher. What I remember most from those days is that (1) she understood and appreciated my developing, unusual sense of humor; (2) she treated us 9-year-olds like real people who had thoughts and opinions; and (3) she showed that she cared so much for her students. I reconnected with her as an adult and have loved that she was unafraid to speak from her heart on the issues that mattered to her. I have become a teacher myself and have often channeled Mrs. Leigh in times of uncertainty or despair. I miss Mrs. Leigh dearly and always will, and am sending love and comfort to her wonderful daughters and family.

Sarah, Jennifer and Amy
I got to know both of your parents while we were owners at The Chelan. Joan and I worked together getting the managers unit ready to rent. We made many trips to buy what we needed. I enjoyed her sense of humor and the many stories she shared about her family. Also the time together sitting in lawn chairs in front of our units sharing our teaching stories. My thoughts are with you and your families.

Dear Sarah, Amy, and Jennifer: We're so sorry to learn about your darling mother--and your father too--both were such a wonderful part of our days on Summit--Ainsworth, MAC tennis, neighborhood fun, and more. Love and tender thoughts to all of you, Ellin (Hastings/Sweet) Johnson

Dear Sarah, Jennifer, and Amy: Your mother was a glorious part of our happy life on Summit Drive, and I am so sad for all of you about her--and your father. We will remember both your parents tenderly--the great Ainsworth days, tennis at the MAC, the neighborhood fun, and more. Loving thoughts to all of you, Ellin (Hastings/Sweet) Johnson
