John Neff Obituary

Neff, John William 89 4/26/1921 7/11/2010 John William Neff was born April 26, 1921, to Frank and Leona Neff in Modale, Iowa. After graduating from high school, he moved to Oregon and worked in the shipyards as a welder where he lost his left eye in an accident. During the war, he went into limited service stationed at Fort Douglas, Utah, and Camp Kilmer, N.J. He moved back to Oregon in 1946 and worked in several logging camps and for the Portland Water Bureau until his retirement. In 1946, he married Ruth Sucraw; she passed away in 1994. John enjoyed bowling and working in his yard. He is survived by his brothers, Charles of Modale, Iowa, and David of Peyton, Colo; and longtime friend, Arneta Lonzway. At his request, there is no service. Interment is in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to Peake Funeral Chapel, Milwaukie, www.peakefh.com
