I was happy to know Mary Ellen for most of my life through the Swiss Clubs of Portland. She was a wonderful, generous person. My condolences to her family for your loss.

Mary Ellen was such a special person. People like her who are willing to invest their money and especially their time in the organizations they believe in are truly rare and to be cherished. Mary Ellen you will be missed. I'm so sorry to be out of town and miss the funeral. To the family - you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless!

I loved Mary Ellen Schraner, as did everyone in my family. She was smart as a whip and ahead of her time. Her stock picks were sound, she had a taste for the finest vodka and could light up the room with her laughter and million dollar smile. I learned a lot from Mary Ellen about how to deal with hurdles that life throws your way. She was kind and generous and loved her family. She was a very dear friend of my mom, Helen Watkins, and together they, along with Helen Feltz, invested many hours (and $) in growing Christ the King's school programs. The countless hours they spent to make the annual Evening in Germany an epic event spearheaded parish camaraderie unmatched in today's world.

The world lost a great one, but she is reunited with Ernie, her sister and of course her Pembroke Court family. Godspeed Mary Ellen.
