As a child I had the pleasure of living with Morlan, Greg and Dale. My mother and I stayed with them for a period of time while my father was serving overseas during World War II. Being an only child it was like having three brothers. It was an experience that I have never forgotten. My mother (Dorothy) and their mother (Ruth) were sisters. April and family, we am so sorry for your loss. Love, Jerry & Carolyne.

Morlan and I had the pleasure of working together at Legacy Health System for ten years. His wise council helped keep Legacy on the right track and he made me look good. What a class act. Best wishes to all the family.

I was at the beginning of my career when I first met Morlan at Legacy. He was full of wisdom and a willingness to share his knowledge with you when asked. Although many years have gone by, I will always remember his example and integrity.

Morlan Lewis hired me for my first professional job at Arthur Young & Co. I was 24 years old and a recent graduate of Stanford Business School. I was impressed by his intelligence and breadth of background. Had I not stumbled on this job opening in Portland, my life would have taken a completely different turn since I had job offers in California. I hadn't spoken to him in more than 20 years, but I would have liked to continue a professional dialogue. I was very sorry to see this obit.

I first met Morlan at the U of Oregon where he was my teacher. His impact on me went well beyond the class content. Over the years we stayed in touch when I sought his advice. Our lives came full circle when we both worked together at Legacy Health System. Morlan had a warmth and wisdom beyond most and was a generous friend. Kathy and I send our love and prayers to April.
