My auntie was very dear to me. We had marvelous adventures together--attending plays, taking the train to Seattle, and cruising to Alaska. On that cruise she wanted to teach me to play the card game, Spite & Malice. I remember being a bit reluctant as, with my hearing impairment, I thought she was saying: "Spike the Mouse." She never failed to say the words "I love you" whenever we chatted on the telephone or saw each other. I will miss her so.

Nevada was a very special lady with a smile for everyone at Moki. She was a great person to talk to about Moki, Kauai, and we will miss her smiling face, but we will always remember her as a "great friend" from our travels.

How we will miss Nevada! She was a wonderful neighbor, friend, listener, dessert taster and provider of apples for some yummy pies, Kauai tour guide [she introduced us to banana macadamia nut pancakes], lover of children and animals [she had some wonderful windup toys to delight the kids]and we had fun seeing who would be the first to find the "needle" in the Country magazine. She was a special lady and a wonderful, unforgettable blessing to our lives.

Nevada was a grand lady, I loved being with her both at Mokie and at her home. We shared lunches and jokes and good times. I will miss her humor, smile and gentle spirit. She always provided a beautiful orchid for my room at Mokie before I arrived. Her generosity was a blessing for all who knew and loved her. ardie jewell

I love Nevada for her kindness and patience with my mom while playing "Spite and Malice" all those years, especially as Mom's health was failing. I love her for being my "mom" when I needed one after mine was gone. What an incredible, very special woman whom I will keep in my heart with all of my loved ones.
