I met Dr. Colvin in 1968 when I was 18 years old. It did not take me very long to see he was a man deeply committed to his family and profession. His patients held him in the highest regard and placed their trust and confidence in him. He was a man of high integrity and honesty. His door was always open. Other physicians sought his advice and assistance on a variety of medical issues. He was a lover of the classics, a student of literature and philosophy and had a keen interest in golf. He owned several airplanes and held instrument and multi engine pilot licenses. He especially enjoyed flying his family across the United States and to the Caribbean Islands with his son as co-pilot. Dr. Irving L Colvin was a renaissance man who lived in our time.

I knew Dr. Colvin many years ago. He was a General
