Channell, Sr., James Charles "" age 81, of Zellwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Born on July 29, 1931 in Zellwood, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Apopka. Mr. Channell, Sr., served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a Meat Cutter for Winn Dixie for 37 years. He is preceded in death by his son, Jay; parents, David and Bessie Channell; brothers, J.D. and Jacob; and nephew, Jeffery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Services will follow immediately after. Both will be held at Loomis Family Funeral Home Chapel 420 West Main Street, Apopka, FL 32712 (407) 880-1007. Mr. Channell, Sr. is survived by his loving wife, Norma Channell; daughter, Stephanie (Tom) Gandy; sisters, Jeannette Ashley and Louise Van Buskirk; sister-in-law, Barbara Channell; and granddaughter, Claire Gandy. My condolences to the entire family. I grew up with Charles father as my next door neighbor in Apopka and then followed by Charles and family. Many good memories. I am sure he will be missed by all. Walter Wilson
