Lydia was a dear friend, counselor and faithful servant to this community. She was always a warm and thoughtful person and my family will always be grateful for her love and kindness. May God's blessings comfort your family.

Lydia Gardner was a absolute prominent figure in Orange County Government. Her faithfulness, accountability, respect, and service to Orlando, Florida has been appreciated. May The Lord's Peace be with her entire family.

I met your family when you first moved to Florida. Although I haven't seen you in years, I was aware of the excellent job your mother was doing in the Clerk of the Court's office. She was a classy lady who got the job done.
Much sympathy to Betsy and Chris and Lydia's husband, John.

Lydia, beautiful inside and out. A very intelligent woman who was passionate about her family, life, beliefs, and responsibilities. She was someone who cared about others whether they were students, staff, victims, or friends. She excelled at every endeavor.
I was fortunate to be a very close friend for several years. I was present in Italy with her when she mistook dishwashing soap for olive oil and and unintentionally washed all our mouths out with soap. It wasn't that some of us may not have needed it. I also recall her pulling out Clerk of Court visors and having everyone wear them in Italy. We were easy to spot. There also was the "suitcase" that would hold a small village. It weighed a ton and was full of more books on travel than sold by Amazon. She was always prepared.
Lydia loved greatly her children and four grandchildren. Betsy and Chris I extend my heartfelt condolences. Your mother and I may not have agreed on politics, but that never diminished how much I thought of her as a person. She was amazing.
