What a tragic loss to the music industry, to Canada, America and the rest of the world who adored him and his work.
Became a fan of Oscar Peterson in the mid 40's during Jazz at the Philharmonic and have followed his
career all over the U.S. at various venues.
THANK YOU OSCAR FOR ALL THOSE YEARS

As a teenager, I was already a fan when I met Oscar, Ray Brown and Herb Ellis in 1953. Oscar was always striving for perfection and self-expression in many forms; he was a great artist, a fine human being, an active humanitarian and a proud Canadian who loved his country and wanted it to live up to the highest standards. When it didn't, he let us know and we were better for it. His abiding affection can be heard in his monumental "Canadiana Suite."
Oscar Peterson is simply irreplaceable.

Many good memories from Montreal High School, Johnny Holmes Orchestra at Victoria Hall on Saturday nights, and the Alberta Lounge listening to your wonderful piano playing.

Oscar Peterson was my firsthero from the world of jazz - I saw him in about 1960 when he made a tour of the UK with JATP, what a wonderful occasion. Even in his later years when he was clearly becoming frail he was always what he was, a great musician. Thank you Oscar Peterson.
