My sympathy to the family, friends, and fans of Oscar Peterson. Not only has the music profession lost one of the most valuable & talented jazz players of all time, the world has lost a kind, decent, and generous man. May the band play on in heaven for you, Oscar - keep them dancing!!

The brilliant artistry of Mr. Peterson will be with us forever. Any one who appreciates jazz has to feel sad about his passing. May his memory be as a blessing

I was 18 yrs old when I first met you OP. I'm 68 now. All these yrs you've been my idol & my friend. I cherish the times I watched & listened to your talent along with Ray & Herb. I will keep you in my heart always.

We have lost one of the fastest, most intelligent, powerful, and simply overall Greatest Musicians of All-Time. And when I say "one of", I don't mean the top 100, I mean Top 10. If it wern't for people like him, Bill Evans and Kieth Jarrett( to name just 2) would have never been able to exist. He was Truly a God.

GREAT GREAT GREAT, the only word to describe Canada's greatest gift to Jazz. Your music will live forever.

He has been taken into a greater nation, one with no pain and tears, and he will be blessed. He has made his name great, in the eyes of God and he has been a blessing to many through his music. May your family be blessed and know that the comfort in the arms of God is with you in this time of lost

I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the great Oscar Peterson when he first came to Australia to play at the ill fated Embers Night Club in Melbourne, I found him to be a warm and gentle human being and of course a phenomenal pianist

Mr. Peterson had a wonderful gift of playing music and he will be missed by many ones who knew him and enjoyed his music. Losing someone is not easy but soon in the near future so close at hand Jesus will call out to our loved ones and will see these ones come back to life and we will be able to say as 1 Corinthians 15:55 says: "Death where is your sting?"

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I play and improvise on Oscar's compositions to this day.
