Bruce Nichol's Family;
Although we would be strangers should we cross pathes today, I would like to tell you that Bruce was a mentor to me back in 1976. I had the pleasure of knowing Bruce while working for Texaco at Sales Terminal 13. There was a substantial age difference between us but Bruce didn't have any trouble relating to the rookies. He was very helpful but didn't mind letting you know when you weren't playing by the rules. He was quick to lend a hand and appreciated similar action. I specifically remember some nights, returning to the terminal in the wee hours of the morning, when Bruce would be busy making sure that the trucks were all loaded and ready for the next shift, amongst his other duties.
We had hoped to invite Bruce and Jenny to the Texaco reunion that we are hosting June 7 at our home on the Queens Line. Through discussions with other members of the Texaco family we learnt of his illness and realized that it wasn't to be. We will not be attending Bruce's Memorial Service but we will be honouring him with some reminiscence of days gone by, with some of his friends and peers.
Please take comfort knowing that your loved one is in our thoughts and prayers.
