To Sue and family,

I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. I just yesterday learned of Keith's passing, and am sorry that I was not in Ottawa to attend his funeral and to express my condolences in person. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My sincere sympathy is exended to the Halpenny family at this time of loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

This is a message from Scott Kearns, music director at West Hill United Church in Toronto where Christie, Keith's sister-in-law attends. I didn't know Keith, but want to send my sympathy to Christie and the wider family on the death of a man, as I read in the obituary, who was highly respected and loved, and will be deeply missed.

My condolences to the family of Keith Halpenny. My late wife, Francine, worked at Halpenny's Insurance for over 25 years. She respected Keith for his integrity and fairness in business and personal life. Over the years I had occasion to meet Keith at his office and we chatted about family, sports and car troubles. I am particularly grateful to him for his offer to admit my wife into the May Court Hospice care program. Unfortunately due to her rapid decline and need for intensive medical intervention, this proved impossible. The last time that I met Keith was a few years ago at Carlingwood Shopping Centre. We joked about how 'us old folks' seemed to congregate in these settings. He asked how I was doing and commented that it was a shame that Francine and I couldn't share our retirement together. He was a true gentleman!

So sorry to hear of your loss. I have many fond childhood memories from the cottage with your family. Keith was a wonderful man who will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Truly a great Westboro boy whose family did much to make Westboro the beautiful place it has become.

Deepest sympathy to the family. I will always remember his cheerful smile and his good humor and being the best snowblower on the block. Unfortunately I am unable to attend the funeral, but my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss.

Dear Sue and family,
I am very saddened to hear of Keith's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you & your family. Keith's father Percy and my father Joseph were first cousins. It has been a number of years since I saw Keith, probably at Jane or Ken Halpenny's funeral.

Exercising with Keith was always a pleasure. He was one of the most positive men I've known. I strive to become as wise and kind as him. It is an honour to have known him.
