Recently I discovered of Bill Barr's passing from my old English teacher Italo Tiezzi who I understand was Bill's friend. Therefore, I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Mr. Barr's family and friends. The great Ottawa Tech guidance teacher was not only a superb mentor in shaping many of our careers but, above all, was a great human being. RIP old friend. - ciao angelo sgabellone

This man changed my life! I first knew Bill as a guidance counselor, then a wonderfully engaging teacher! He came to be a dear longtime friend. He loved company, a good meal and a drink. I will miss his intelligence, humor and compassion! Bill had a good run of it! It was a pleasure and a privelege to be a part of it! John HIlson

Doug Gray: May Bill rest in peace. He was an exemplary person. The students adored him and his fellow teachers envied his way of life.

As a former Ottawa Tech student, I had the privilege of having Mr. Barr as my guidance councillor. Mr. Barr was truly inspirational and a significant role model. Mr. Barr's interactions with his students transcended his duties as a councillor and administrator – Mr. Barr was a true gentleman.

I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Barr, AKA Billy, as he was called by the students of Ottawa Tech. in the early sixties. He was the most approachable Teacher in the school. R.I.P." Billy"
