Harriet F. DuFort, 94, of Midland, passed away on March 17, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 24, 1920 in Midland, to the late Charles G. and Anna Maria (Sinclair) Glasgow.
Harriet married Cecil J. DuFort on Jan. 13, 1939. He preceded her in death on July 15, 2010. Harriet and Cecil wintered in Florida for 26 years and she loved crossword puzzles. Harriet is survived by her sons, Laurence (Beverly Alexander) and Joseph (Marilyn) DuFort; grandchildren, Troy (Leslie Wood) DuFort, Brian (Melina Wood) DuFort, Ann-Marie DuFort, David (Amber McLaren) DuFort, Chantee (Robert) Mock DuFort and Anjanette (Alex) Hill; and five great-grandchildren. Harriett was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Glasgow; brother, Harold; and sisters, Ethelyn Glasgow, Marguerite Gray and Kathryn Nash. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, with Deacon Al Oliver officiating. Friends can visit with the family on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 4-7 p.m., and on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
