Having grown up at a time when women had to "fight" for equality, your journey was huge!! I really admired you.

May she rest in peace. Thank you God for giving us such an amazing woman that shared her gift and life with us. My prayers and love go out to the ones she leaves behind.

Sally,

Thank you for your service to our country in the name of science. Some of us were never meant to carry a gun into battle; your battle was to push back every frontier you encountered.

I'd hoped to thank you at the final CAIB public hearing in Washington, but there were too many around you. That proved to be a pivotal moment, one that led to the safe conclusion of the STS program. My family and I were invited to Florida to watch the final launch.

Now, you're in Heaven, you know the whole story. I'll bet you were amazed by who was there to welcome you home.
Now, you rest. See you someday.

You blazed a trail so that other women can follow. May you RIP.

Although I was born too soon to be an astronaut, Sally Ride demonstrated that women are making some advances in science. I followed her career with joy, and was excited when she became a physics professor after leaving NASA. She left an important mark on women's and scientists' history. I'll miss knowing that she was still inspiring young scientists. My respects to her loved ones at losing such a special person.
