We have met Dr. Powers through his nephew, Kevin and enjoyed dinner with him, some of his family and Gerri (sp?) in Napa. What a warm and wonderful human being. God bless all his family. Another soul welcomed into the good place.

In June of 1960 my college friend who was employed at San Antonio Community Hosptial's externship program (for students who were considering a a career in medicine), was guiding me to the pharmacy for a job interview as a pharmacy intern. As we were approaching the rear entrance on the walkway west of Latimer Pavilion, we bumped into Dr. Powers who knew my friend. They had a brief conversation. To this day I still remember how impressed I was by Dr. Powers' genuine warmth and friendliness. I ended up working at the hosptial for forty-one years. So over time I got to know him myself, and my initial impression of him never changed. My condolences to the family.
