Prof. Girouard was more than a teacher. He was a friend. He was as concerned, if not more so, for his students' development as a person as well as an engineer. You will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.
Wow. What an impact he had. Glad to have known him and be impacted by him.
Without a doubt, one of the most positive influences in my life. Semper Fi
Thank you Professor Girouard. I really appreciate your influence in my profession. I am grateful to have you as my teacher. May God keep you safe with him as you return to him in heaven.
Dr. Girouard was wonderful, kind, very and knowledgeable. I learned very important concepts and life lessons from him which I carry every day. My prayers are with his family.
Beloved professor Girouard will surely be missed. Your memories will be eternal Bill.
To Maureen, Kathleen, and Rita.
May my warmest thoughts and prayers be with you during this most difficult time. I am a former neighbor of yours, having lived next to the Edlers.
A blessing to all who knew him and joy to have as a professor. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with your students and colleagues. With fond memories we remember how Prof. Girouard and his wife would open up their home and recognize the IE graduates for their accomplishments. Your inspiration and encouragement has touched so many lives in the Cal Poly and IE community. You will be missed. Keeping his wife and family in our prayers.
Bill was a great person. I knew him first as a student, then as a co-worker and a friend. He was a wonderful influence on my life and I'll never forget him. I'll be out of town this Friday, but my thoughts and prayers will be with his Family and Friends. God bless Bill.
Bless his soul and deepest condolences to the family. I would not be where I am without the guidance and inspiration from Professor Girouard.

You shared your knowledge and life experience with your students and whether you were sharing your experiences as an IE or as an officer during WWII I always learned something. You supported my pursuit of higher education with a reference letter to SC, and have been an invaluable mentor. You will be missed, God bless.

I came to Cal Poly young and knowing everything and because of Dr. Girouard I left knowing much more. He kept me grounded and motivated. He was always engaged and one of my very best memories at Poly.
Dr. Girouard was a special person. He was my counselor and teacher who inspired me to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering. Although it has been 20 years since I last saw him, I will never forget him.
