HARRIS, E. Marshall
E. Marshall Harris, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully at his home on November 14, 2013, due to complications from
cancer. He was the son of Elwin Marshall Harris Sr., and Winiford Mason Harris of Pasadena, California. As a life-long resident of Pasadena, he attended Pasadena city schools, PCC, and Saint Anselm's College in New Hampshire.
Marshall had a successful wallpapering business, through which many of his customers became close friends. During World War II, he was a 1st Lieutenant and pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corps, and continued his passion for flying in civilian life. He was an avid golfer, spending many hours on the links with his friends, and enjoyed boating with family and friends throughout his life. Marsh was a very giving person, always willing to help his friends. He was a member of the Pasadena Elks Club for over fifty years and volunteered at Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he enjoyed his Monday associations. His friendly spirit and love of life are the fond memories that will be carried in the hearts of all his friends.
He was predeceased by his twin sister, Dorothy Harris Starkweather.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Mitchell Harris; daughter Susan Harris Swinney (Steve); son Lee Marshall Harris; granddaughter Stephanie Harris Landrum (Joe); grandsons Nicholas Harris (Kathryn), Christopher Swinney (Hanh), James Swinney (Marco); six great grandchildren; and two Boston Terriers.
A memorial service will be held at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 E. Colorado Blvd, at 4:00 pm on Monday, December 9, 2013. The family requests that those attending the memorial service please RSVP to Sue Swinney at [email protected] by December 2.

Marshall was a guy that could light up a room just entering it. He was a Faithful Member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Every Tuesday Lodge Meeting he would regale us with tales of his love of Life, family and friends.
We will miss him greatly there with his enigmatic smile and good cheer.
May the Angels welcome him into Paradise and may he rest in peace.
I am sure he is recruiting members for the Elks Club in the hereafter to continue his spreading cheer and good will.
