To the Burns family,

We are sorry for the loss of your loved one. May the comforting words from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and the fond memories of your loved one continue to provide comfort to you.

May you also find a measure of comfort and peace in God's promises found in the last book of the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." 2 Peter 3:13; 1 Cor. 15:24-26

Truly a very sad day...little did we know in Toronto how blessed we were when he was here, ...a true fighter to the core, he will be missed but never forgotten....a warrior in its truest sense....Here he helped restore faith in our hockey community with the Leafs...and brought back a level of respectability with Cliff Fletcher and gang which we will probably never witness again. I have his autograph but never had the pleasure of meeting Mr.Burns, but I will always miss him and thank him for all his contributions to the Leafs. Wherever he was, he was a winner, Wayne Gretzky suggested he stick with it and what did he know? He was just the greatest player of all time!!! Mr.Burns may god bless you, and grant you peace and eternal happiness....I will never forget you and have always missed you since you have left, I wish your family and friends peace....to me you were a true warrior, you fought your disease with tenacity that fiew posess..how lucky we all were to have you with us....godspeed, and godbless!!!!! .
